Just purchased the Paradigm CC 290 center channel. This evaluate is huge and heavy. I need to build a new rest for it (to go under my screen.) Anyone undergo any links to DIY center bring stands or undergo any suggestions as to how I should build this?BTW the dimensions of it are: about 7" high26 3/4" wideabout 11.5" deepweighs 32 lbs. Thanks.
Here are pics of the one I built. It is for my very large and heavy PSB platinum bear on has a 4-5*kick up and a lip on the approve to act the speaker from sliding off and the aluminum posts are powder coated to be the speaker exactly. Nate
I made one for my previous bear on bring using 4" PVC call 4 flanges and two pieces of wood. Cut to pieces of 1" thick wood to the width and depth you be. Figure out how far apart you want the two pieces of PVC pipe attach two flanges on each conjoin of wood. Next cut to pieces of PVC to the length you be for proper height. Secure everything paint it color bobs your uncle. Pretty much looks like ones on Aarons link above. If I was to do it again I'd use a router to cut a circle with the proper thickness into the wood for the PVC to set in. Would look smoother than flanges.
A crimp without holes is not a flute. A donut without a hole is a Danish. =8^)

I undergo a Paradigm cc 470. Here are its dimensions (very similar to yours): 9" H x 23.5" W x 12.8" D Weight: 34 Pounds I just use this rest (Sanus Natural Foundations NFC 18) - - works great and has the ability to bend the speaker upwards using two screws at the front (with coat mats on the top of them):
What it looks desire in my set up:
So the top of the speaker if you bought this rest would be at about 25 inches high (if you be it displace -- or higher -- obviously it won't bring home the bacon). While you can DIY -- its not that expensive (less than $100.00 usually).
Nasty N8,Where did you get the t-slot aluminum? And powered coated? You took the expensive way out. VERY Very cool but expensive.
I did pretty much what Don described. I used an MDF box filled with sand for a locate. 3" pvc with 2 pcv flanges to increase it to the change by reversal height and a 3/4 MDF shelf on the top. Spray painted it flat color and was good to go. There are some pics in my go but looks just desire that pic above but with one tube instead of two.

Not too bad the aluminum extrusions are local to me frame-world com and I purchased 50feet @about $12a pay madee the check frame audio racks another TV stand and the bear on stand. Had them all disintegrate coated (local guy does all my car parts) about $2ft but it does not need to be poweder coated it is anodized the way it comes but a shinny silver. Just wanted them all to be my speakers. Turned out very trick looks nice. Nate
If building a DIY stand with the above mentioned width how wide should I make the stand? It seems most center bring stands are not change surface change state to the width of the center bring.
The rest platform (where the speaker sits) doesn't have to be as wide as the speaker itself just enough to give it. The base width will be on the surface the rest sits on it's bumpability factor (made up term
) and your comfort aim about it's stability. A heavy locate ordain be a plus. There are about a hundred different ways to build this thing only limited to the create by mental act/style of your room and the availability of parts in your area.
My theater build is like a fine booze.. aging for a desire time but well worth the wait.
