Writing by voice!

I wrote 1,458 words this morning. In my car. No. I was not using my cell phone to text the words to my email Inbox thumbing along as I managed the steering wheel with my knees. I was dictating. That’s right. I was speaking into a microphone and having the words transcribed directly into Microsoft Word. In one word it was glorious. I spent 3 hours per day in the car. The commute in to work may take as long as 1 ½ hours and the drive back home will take that desire as well. Sometimes one way takes longer and the other is shorter but at the end of the week when it averages out I probably waste about 3 hours every day. So I’m putting those hours to work!Instantly the first thing I’ve noticed when using this new method is that I evaluate about what I “write” more than I normally would. The dictation schedule in Windows Vista is fairly sensitive—without being completely useless—and so it invokes a natural propensity for speaking clearly which kickstarts your hit into thinking more carefully about the words coming from your communicate. This as far as I can tell in this first trial run results in more thoughtful writing. That can only be a good thing. I’m going to attempt finishing my NaNoWriMo novel via dictation. If I can do 3,000 words per day (1,500 each way based on this morning’s performance) then I should finish early. That would be awesome. And it would lead to enhanced productivity in the future ,too. We’ll see how long I can keep it up!-Mark
I undergo completed two novel first drafts in six months. Now I'm editing them into what I hope are publishable manuscripts. In the meantime. I'm helping spread the word that the only writing advice you need is this: create verbally. I live in Texas with my beautiful wife and agree boys.[ADVERTHERE]Related article:
